Our nursery is in a converted house which was used as ‘Miss Culpins Private School’ many years ago. The upper floor has three rooms that are used by two groups of six children aged between 3 months and two years. The lower floor is occupied by a group of sixteen children aged between two and four years. We also have a large garden for the children to use. The garden is enclosed and provides an area in which the children can play safely.
Our Staff to Child ratios are:
0-2 years one member of staff to three children
2-4 years one member of staff to five children
Professional, experienced staff look after the children in our care. Our staff are either N.N.E.B, BTEC Diploma or NVQ qualified in childcare. All of our staff are trained in Paediatric First Aid. Our Staff have been with us for a long time, some since we opened in 1995 and others since 1997.
New staff are vetted by us and receive enhanced CRB disclosures before they are permitted to take charge of a group of children.
The high staff to child ratio enables us to give each child individual attention. We plan our activities around each child, their interests and stage of development.
All staff are called by their first names.
